🍵 What is Matcha?
Matcha is a type of finely ground green tea powder made from specially grown and processed tea leaves. Unlike traditional green tea, where the leaves are steeped in hot water and then discarded, matcha involves consuming the entire leaf—giving you a much higher concentration of nutrients and antioxidants.
🌱 A Brief History of Matcha
Matcha has deep roots in Japanese culture, where it has been used in tea ceremonies for over 800 years. The practice originally came from China, but Japan perfected the cultivation and preparation methods we use today.
Traditionally, matcha was associated with Zen Buddhism, used by monks to support meditation, thanks to its calming-yet-alert effects.
